Electricians, electrical contractors, marketing, and marketing. That's the question. Join me and follow along as we search for the answers. My name is James Rest and welcome to Marketing Secrets for Electricians. So the standard of what, A, we can earn or get this, for this much money, we can get a customer.

So say roughly 10 bucks, you can get a dollar, another customer, different thing. But let's see how this works out. So from these, say you got 10 people, that's a hundred bucks, roughly. And say one of those people gives you a $300 job. You've now got a list of 10 people or 10 potential customers.

And one of them's a job. So you're actually 200 up. So every $1 I will put into advertising, you would essentially make $3 back, if that were the case. But today, what we're trying to do is I haven't gone that far. I'm still at the front of this opt-in page, which is a page where someone comes and gives me their email in exchange for something value.

Now, the previous value that we're offering was $300 worth of electrical work. I'm changing that. As we test different things. And basically we're going to redo this offer. So I'm going to lower the price of the electrical work, which is actually the hardest thing, or the most costly thing as an electrician, to give away your time.

So the first thing we're going to change that is a certificate. So notice to be, sorry, a safety check. So an electrical safety check, where we're going to go to their home and we're going to provide them with a safety check. You know, just walk around, do all the things that are required, is required of that. And this is going to be the free thing we're giving away.

But we're going to change it up. So they're not only going to get that, we're going to mix it up and make it something more exciting, more interesting. So this offer, yeah, so they're not just going to get a safety check, we're going to give them an offer. And the offer is, it's going to be a challenge. So we're going to tweak it a bit and make it a home safety challenge.

So it sounds a bit more interesting, intriguing, and we're going to give them, so I'm going to make up a checklist and give them something that they can walk around the home and they can check and they can do their own little safety challenge. And then we're going to give them a guide to kind of explain what some electrical things are. And we notice now, they're getting three things. They're getting the safety check, they're getting a checklist and they're getting a guide. So that's three things.

I'm also going to contact some firefighters or find some firefighters that we can talk to and they're going to add some value and share some stories and things of what they've found. So that's four things we're going to give them. You notice how we're providing more value and all they have to do is opt in and it's not just electrical work directly, it's all related to a area of essentially safety, electrical safety and this type of thing. So the next one I'm actually going to throw in, if you do some research, there's a first aid training. So we're going to give them some free first aid training online and then they're also going to get the actual electrical certificate.

So this is the one they're going to win. So they're electrical certificate, they're going to win that, like that's our time. So they're going to win that, but they're going to get everything else for free included, no matter what. So they just opt in, they go into the members area and they get all this stuff. I'm also going to provide them with a my own video series.

And so this is kind of how to explain this. It's like a follow up series. So when they opt in, you get their email. And maybe you offer them something else, but we're going to have a follow up email series where we're going to teach them, educate them, indoctrinate them is the terminology where they get to know and trust you and you build that relationship. And then finally, we're going to give them a cash back offer.

So if they get any work done, we're going to give them $50 cash back. So we're going to combine all that into one offer. And that is going to be what we're going to offer them this time, instead of just that one thing. So see how kind of adds the value gives them more, more, gives them more value for essentially the email address. So my question to you is, what can you offer your customers right now?

I think sit down and brainstorm and the 10 things related to a product. So we've been installing downwinds, we've been installing our SODs. If you're doing maintenance work, whatever the job is, you've got like the task you do, but try and find some offer. So make that task and offer. So if my task is installing downwinds, I might add three or four other things that I could actually bundle up and give them to make my downwind installation more valuable.

And for example, this is kind of where you can go with this. Right now, I'm seeing a lot of talk about downwinds and like everyone's doing it so cheap and blah, blah, blah. And this is a way to kind of get away from the cheapness because you're going to offer a package that nobody else has because you're going to create the package that's unique to you. So if they want to get this thing, they have to essentially go through you. And that means you're standing out.

You can charge different prices because I can go there and get a downwind or I can go with you and get all this other stuff included in that. And that adds more value for the customer. So hopefully that helps today and I'll talk to you soon. If you have any other questions, feel free to hit me up at marketingsecrets.com. Got a contact page.

Thanks, guys. Are you an electrician looking to market your business? When I first started, I didn't have a clue. The trade school that I went to, they didn't really help. So over the years, I've managed to find a way that it works effectively, scalable.
