Hey, guys. James Rest here from Marketing Secrets for Electricians. And today, I'm just going to go through what's going on in fine electricians near me, what essential steps I'm taking, and how you could use that in your business also if you wanted to. So let's have a look. That's the question.

Join me and follow along as we search for the answers. So what I've started to do is put together a website. I've got a waiting page there, which essentially is what you want to do before you start building a big project or like you don't want to. So, for example, what a lot of the time people do is like they build the thing and then they try and sell it. Or if you've heard, build it and they shall come.

This is from a marketer. I can't remember his name off top of my head. But he essentially is all wrong. Maybe that worked back then, like 50 years ago. But essentially now it's I want to try and teach you to flip it.

So before you spend weeks, months, years building a project, talk about it first, write about it, speak, tell people that you're hey, you're you're going to be doing this thing. Are you interested and see if people are interested and actually want the thing before you go ahead and spend hours, weeks, months building the thing and then no one buys the thing, especially like there's a lot of this with books like many people write a book and then nothing happens. They make one or two sales and then it gets lost into a billion. And then even so, a lot of people pass away. And then their books or their artwork or whatever it is, then it becomes famous, then it becomes worth something which is kind of useless to them because they're no longer here to get the benefit of what they created.

So what what you essentially do is in the digital world, you can build a waiting page and then you start talking about the thing that you're going to do. So whatever I've done, I've got a waiting page and the fine electricians near me website is going to if there's not so much work to build the product in a sense, because it's basically that when it when it launches, it's going to be a sales page with a video sales letter. And I'm going to split test this. If you don't know what that is, video sales letter is essentially some text or copy where I'm going to be talking about whatever the customers is, like their problems and the solution that I have and what I'm going to do for them. And you can do this like on video.

So like with your face on camera or you can do it with words across the screen or you can do a split of both. So I'm going to be split testing this. So having a couple different ways to see which is more effective. So that's kind of the page. But then what they do once they want the service is they go through and this answer a few questions and then it goes to a thank you page.

So for me to make that is not so challenging. It's not going to take a lot of work. However, you still want to test the waters to see, hey, do people want this service? Are they interested in this thing? So for you as an electrician, like obviously people need electricians, but what do you want to be known for and what could you offer?

So what unique new vehicle, so new thing you don't want to be like every electrician can install a light like that's like expected But if I come to you and install a light, what are you going to offer me? What is your unique thing that I can only get from you? And this is where you start to stand out where you can build a package. So if you go to Facebook or go to marketing electrician dot com and click on the Facebook link, you'll see that I've given you a behind the scenes look at the funnel that I'm creating. So you'll see the and on that you'll see the offer.

So there's an offer there. I'm not just offering like a lot of job sites like, hey, fine electrician and you enter your details and then they give you like ten electricians to pick from. Well, they send out the message and you guys get the text. Hey, this person wants an oven installed, whatever the thing is, whereas I'm doing it, whereas they don't get just that they get a value stack. So they get like three or four or five things to increase the perceived value.

So they would rather choose me to find electrician than go directly to electrician because I'm going to help them through my services and my knowledge. So this is the plan that's like, so what can you offer for your business and relate it to your avatar, which we've talked about in the past. So your your ideal customer, who are you serving? What is your service that you're providing? That you can add value to.

And then what I'm doing is so I'm doing I've created something called a lead magnet, which is one of these five things or six things that I'm offering. I think I got six at the moment. But a lead magnet is I might go into detail a bit more about this in another maybe the next episode. But essentially, it's I'm giving value or something in exchange for their email address. So they give me the email address.

I'm giving them a checklist or a point. That they can use to help find their own electrician if they don't want me to do it. So this allows them to create a nine step checklist of how I think they my method. So I'm giving them my recipe essentially to find electrician. So if they don't want to hire me to do it, they can still do it themselves and get value because there's a lot of DIY people who just want to do it themselves.

And then there's also people who want the extra help, want the assistance. That's fine. But I'm creating a digital asset. So something that is not going to cost me anything to do. It's essentially a document or a bit of paper or maybe it's a video or whatever the thing may be.

I'm creating like what I'm going to do in this case is use Canva. So first off, I'm going to create my nine points. I think I'm going to have. I'm not sure I haven't decided exactly how many points I'm going to have. But either as I say, say nine points.

I'm going to write them out, put them on Canva and then have like a checklist where they can work through. OK, does electrician have a license and all these other, you know, different points to check and invent the electrician so they're more comfortable before they hire the electrician. Following that, I'm also starting a fine electricians near me podcast because if you look at the statistics, the there's like, for example, one of them is I think the average person listening to a podcast earns about seventy five thousand American dollars a year. So what does that mean? That means they've got money.

They've got essentially they should have disposable income to use for electrical services. Maybe they have a property. Maybe they have a business. So more people of this caliber listen to podcasts, which is great because they're the audience that I want to target. They're the ones I want to listen.

So my first episode is going to be a bit about me, my backstory and an interesting story about what I've done. So they get to find out who I am. And then that is why I talked about the backstory in a previous episode, because it's important for everybody to know who you are. They need to know that this is like it helps build trust. You start building a relationship.

That's the first episode. Now, if you wanted to start a podcast, you can do this quite easily by going to anchor dot F.M. And if you go there, this is Spotify. I bought them out. But anchor is essentially what I'm using to host this podcast and any other one I do in the future, potentially, because it's simple.

You can download the app on your phone, your log in and you basically record your voice and it distributes to all not all, but you know, nine platforms instantly connects, signs you up at takes a bit of time to sign up. But once you're signed up, all the pub, all the episodes are published there automatically. You don't have to do there's a minimal work involved. The main thing you have to focus on is building the content. You can create the intro, the outro.

It's very simple. So I'd recommend if you want to start a podcast and you can do so easily, essentially, if you're just driving in your car or your work van, hit, hit record, like download. So go to anchor, sign up, put the app on your phone and then just hit the record button. And when you're driving from job to job, talk about the previous job you just had. So you might have done the oven install and you're like, OK, I was at a house in this suburb and we had a customer who wasn't sure about such and such and tell the story.

What did you go through? What was it like? And this makes your time more valuable because you're not actually wasting any time. What would you be doing otherwise? Listening to the radio, you know, maybe make a phone call.

But this is like. Being proactive about your time, so this is not not taking up any extra time yet. It's creating valuable content for potential customers that want to find you and you don't have to be on video. So if you're not sure about showing your face, that's fine. You can also do it like on a Facebook Live.

Essentially, you set it up and you can drive like there's people who do shows where they're just driving around and they're talking in their car while they're driving from like, you know, they from not from from job to job or whatever it is, they're just driving around and they're talking and you can see them talking and you can watch them on the video. And then that creates multiple multipurpose content so you can from that one video. So if you did this once a day, twice a day in between every job, however many jobs you do, you could use the video. So that's one thing that goes on Facebook and then all YouTube, whatever, wherever you want to post your video, then the second thing is you can strip the audio and then upload it onto anchor who would then publish it out for your podcast. So there's two mediums and then the third medium is text.

You can then transcribe the text, your words, what you've said and make a blog post out of it. And this is the simple system where you can hire people to do this. And if you want help doing this, let me know. I'm more than happy to assist you in creating a publishing platform or system. For your business, because getting your voice out is especially in today's world with so much content, so much videos, text, everything being put out there, we need to publish.

And the more you publish, the more you got out there, the higher your chances are being found. And if you're telling stories and you're interesting and you're also at the end of your podcast, your or your video, you're saying, hey, go check out my thing. Like if you want, if you just did a episode on an oven installing an oven at this job, you could then go, hey, if you want your oven installed, go to this link and let me know and I can get in contact with you, whatever the case may be. So for my plan, how this works in with my digital asset is the digital asset set has nine bits of nine checkpoints. I'm going to have a podcast episode on each checkpoint, so I'm going to go into depth a little bit to add that extra value.

So not only are they going to get a checklist, they're also going to get nine steps of me walking them through the steps so they get a better understanding of what the steps are and why these steps are important, in my opinion. Following that, I want to put it out there that if you want to find or if you want to connect with your customers, you need to put yourself out there. So I want to interview basically as many electricians as possible. I'm trying to build a library of electricians that these potential customers I'm talking to can go into and like have a members area and they can look around and go, oh, that they can watch all these interviews that I'm going to do with you guys and they can see which electrician they resonate best in their area. So we're creating value and content and they're going to be able to find you and get to know you without you even talking to them first.

So their first interaction they have with you is going to be a video or a bit of content about you. And then when they call you, essentially they could already be pre-soul. So they're already like, I want you to be my electrician versus, hey, what's the price? You know what I mean? Like there's a the perceived value is so different rather than, hey, I just want a free quote so I can test out the free quotes against like the 10 other electricians.

And then I'm going to go for the cheapest. You don't want that customer. That's going to cause you a lot of stress. Cheapest isn't always the best in anything. If you buy tools, electricians, like whatever the thing is, the cheapest like may cost you less in the short term, but long term or even, you know, if it if it breaks and you have to buy 10 tools for the sake of just having that one, just the downtime of having to go, oh, my side cutters broke and now I've got it or they're blunt.

I hate blunt side cutters. So, you know, you can't cut the wire. You then have to go buy a new one and then you buy a new one and then you buy a new one. Instead, you could have just bought the more expensive one which stays sharp longer and then you don't have to waste time struggling to cut the wires, which is the main video job. So have effective tools to actually do the job.

So I want our customers or our potential customers to have effective electricians to do the job and work or look after them. And this is my goal to connect customers with reliable electricians at the end of the day for find electricians near me. I'm going to be this is one project I'm working on. I want to get it set up and running. And the beauty of when you create content, it stays there for essentially ever.

As long as the Internet's around, people will be able to find that content. And this is the other such a valuable thing. There there is only so much time that a person have twenty four hours in a day. We all have the same amount. However, if you start producing content and essentially videos, you can teach someone, add value to someone's life without you actually being there.

So, you know, with this podcast, I can go to sleep. I wake up and people have watched it. It's like me talking to you directly right now. I've been sleeping. It's a different it's it's using it's leveraging your time more effectively.

So I encourage you in summary to make use of your time, create content when you're in between jobs, because that's going to allow you to leverage your time even further. And if you could just do one podcast content just talking each day, that's five. Audio posts a day or podcasts a day, sorry, a week that you do, you could like and this starts building your database of information and content that people can consume and learn about you and trust you before they contact you. So there's examples of people like, you know, how if you look on the Web, who do you follow? Who do you listen to?

And after a time, you start to trust them. So there's an actual system where it's like I think it's seven, seven touches, nine touches. So nine touch points where they have consumed your content nine times. They start trusting you. You know, you're not a fly by the night person.

They start building that relationship with you. And then guess what? If they trust you, they're more likely to purchase from you. And you can do this without taking up any extra time. It's magic.

Like it's going to grow your business. You're going to get more customers. You're going to get more lead. You're going to get more work and you can scale this like you've never seen. Like right now, you can do the podcast for free, but then you can boost that with ads.

And once you create a self liquidating funnel. So it's a funnel where you spend five dollars in ads and then that funnel converts enough. So you get an average of five dollars back and you start breaking even. And this would be the goal I would like to create. For you guys in your business, a goal that I'm going to be working with you on is to create a sales funnel that breaks even so you can then spend money on ads and it essentially becomes free because you get that money back in your pocket.

And I think I've talked enough for today. So if you have any questions, please reach out. You can go to marketingelectrician.com and see what's going on. I've got all the links. There that I'm working on.

I'm going to put projects up there so you can see essentially one one link that will one domain one website that's going to have all what I've going I've got going on for marketing secrets for electricians. And I'll talk to you soon. I didn't have a clue. The trade school that I went to, they didn't really help. So over the years, I've managed to find a way that it works effectively scalable and basically put it on automation.
