A review of the Facebook live I just did with Parker on How to become an electrician, the untold storied Professional Electricians NEVER Share Until Now!
Great. So I just came off an interview with Parker and we went through his journey of how he became an electrician, so he started off you wasn't enjoying school. And then he worked through these series of events to get the skills and requirements in order to become the electrician that he is today. Now, this was a great story. However, what I want to touch on here is not essential, not the story you can go to marketing secrets for electricians, dot com opt in.
And I've put this story there for you guys to see if you're going to see the interview. Feel free to do that. But this is about the behind the scenes. So how do we come up with the title like How to Become an Electrician? Why specifically did I pick that title? And that is because, for example, what I did was I found out what Parker who's trying to serve. And then from there, I was like, okay.
So he's trying to serve people who don't know what they want to do or you're trying to serve people wanting to become electricians. So they're better at that type of point. So I went and used this type of topic awareness and went to suggest so you can go to movies, suggest you've tried that in Google is from Neil Patel and type in your keywords there or description. So if I typed in electrician or how to become electrician, what I discovered and there's a bunch of keywords like Illin It collectible partnership near me has three thousand people searching for that per month, but this one has like 11 eleven thousand.
I think it was people searching for how to become electricians. So this interview is basically us trying to target that. There is key words. And not only that, we know people are interested in this because there's that much traffic that's just in America around the world. There's like heaps more. And you can actually search your area and see how many people are searching in your particular country. So once I had that information as a matter of, okay, cool, we've got the title and that's kind of like the key word.
So that's like your page one. You're like major thing that Google is going to pick up when it ranks. Second, the kind of hook is the untold stories professional electricians never share until now. And this is like the subtext, which is kind of like curiosity. Dacia Yeah, like untold stories professional electrici

Hi guys, James REST here from Marketing Secrets for Electricians and today we're looking behind the scenes at the interview that I just did on how to become an electrician. How do we compete against the big guys who own the market share or the guys that charge peanuts for an electrical job? On top of that, we want to employ the best electricians so we can get off the tools and have plenty of time for other areas of life. That's the question. Join me and follow along as we search for the answers.
My name is James Rest and welcome to Marketing Secrets for Electricians. Great. So I just came off an interview with Parker and we went through his journey of how he became an electrician. So he started off 16, wasn't enjoying school and then he worked through these series of events to get the skills and requirements in order to become the electrician that he is today. Now this was a great story.
However, what I want to touch on here is not the story. You can go to MarketingSecretsForElectricians.com opt in and I've put the story there for you guys to see. If you want to see the interview, feel free to do that. But this is about the behind the scenes. So how did we come up with the title?
Like how to become an electrician? Why specifically did I pick that title? And that is because, for example, what I did was I found out what Parker, who's he trying to serve? And then from there, I was like, okay, so he's trying to serve people who don't know what they want to do or he was trying to serve people wanting to become electricians. So they're there at that type of point.
So I went and used this type of topic awareness and went to Ubersuggest. So you can go to Ubersuggest. You've typed that in Google is from Neil Patel and typing your keywords there or description. So if I typed in electrician or how to become electrician, what I discovered and there's a bunch of keywords like electrical apprenticeship near me has three thousand people searching for that per month. But this one has like eleven thousand, I think it was, people searching for how to become electrician.
So this interview is basically us trying to target those keywords. And not only that, we know people are interested in this because there's that much traffic. That's just in America. Around the world, there's like heaps more and you can actually search your area and see how many people are searching in your particular country. So once I had that information, it was a matter of, OK, cool, we've got the title and that's kind of like the keyword.
So that's like your H1, your like major thing that Google is going to pick up when it ranks. Second, the the kind of hook is the untold storage. Professional electricians never share until now. And this is like the subtext, which is kind of like curiosity base. Yeah.
We're like untold stories. Professional electricians never share. Well, this is also a true statement. How many electricians share how they became electrician? Would that help you stand out from your business?
If you on your about page, you had a video saying, hey, I was once not electrician before and I found it frustrating with electricians or sharing your journey as to how you became the electricians and the frustrations you found about electricians so you can connect with your customers on that same level. So that's kind of the. The hook is getting that interest and making it like compelling to share. Second, so after we've done that, the next bit, what I did was I went on Canva and basically you'll see the thumbnail of what I created and it's kind of catchy, engaging, looks professional. It took me maybe 20 minutes, 15 minutes to point a few free pictures, add some images and just put the keywords in there and mark around with that.
So the first step, what we did was come up with a title that's like ranking where people are searching for then kind of a hook. Then we went to Canva and we made a catchy image or compelling image. Now, I wanted to test this out and so I put it on Facebook and I created an event on Facebook and then ran. I spent like five to seven dollars targeting electricians so you can actually target people who have the job title or the interest of electricians to see the purpose. I wanted to see how much would it cost me for someone to register to show up to my event.
And so I ran that only like 48 hours or 24 hours, not very far before the event. Ideally, you want to give yourself like if you're doing a proper launch, give yourself like a week and then do it again and give yourself a week. That's a much better time frame. This is just me testing that the results were still interesting. Yeah, I found out that I was spending about thirty seven cents per registrant.
Now, why is that valuable? Okay, so thirty seven cents. If I wanted a hundred people to show up or at least register, that means it's going to cost me thirty seven dollars per hundred people. So for me, what what I want to do or what I try to do is in the in the things you produce, you have the hook and you have the story, which Parker, we created the story throughout the interview and then an offer. In this case, I didn't actually have like a paid offer, but we still gave them something to do.
So it was like comment. Yes. And we'll give you the framework of how to become an electrician. We'll make one up and we'll send it to you. This was kind of the offer.
So we're testing to see if, hey, people searching for how to become electrician. Do they want framework on how to become electrician? Do they? Let's see. I haven't created it.
This is just purely we're waiting to see if we get feedback. And if they if we get enough people say, hey, yes, I want that. Well, guess what? Then we'll actually make the thing. If no, if people go, ah, you know, we don't get the response we're after, then we don't bother making it and we don't waste our time.
Now, why is that important? Well, instead of giving a free thing, this was actually a free thing. You can also give a pay thing. So if I want a hundred people to register for my event at thirty seven cents, that's and that's not bad in price wise. That's going to cost me thirty seven dollars a people shop.
Now, if I did something right, the offer I would make or I would make a thirty seven say I make a thirty seven dollar offer. So you sign up, you listen to me and then at the end I say, hey, they're interested to find out more. You can get this thing. And I would create an offer and I've talked about offers previously, essentially what an offer is a stack of things. So you would get this and this and this and this not just one thing, but you get a package of things for thirty seven dollars.
And why is that cool? Because that means those contacts. So I had a hundred people register, say one person purchases my offer. Guess what that does? That means that all those hundred people.
That I have got in contact with are interested in my product or service, whatever it is, I get my money back. So now they become free. And if I get to I've just made a profit. And guess what I can do with that profit money? If I want to, I can reinvest it in ads.
And this starts a point where you start getting free traffic. If I put a dollar in or in this case, I put thirty seven dollars in and I get so I get thirty seven times two is seventy four and I get seventy four dollars out. I'm putting one dollar in getting two dollars for that. I reinvest that and then compounding and I'm getting all these free leads. So it turns into a point where Facebook is paying me money to get those leads.
Now, this is the focus point I want you guys to take on board is the first point is what content are you putting out there and what is the hook? So what's engaging your customers? What's the story of giving you? What's the offer? And if you do it correctly, putting this.
With paid ads, you can actually make money from it and it becomes worth your while investing and then you don't have a marketing budget. You can just basically pump the money in and you have as many leads as you want essentially for that niche. So this is the main thing point I wanted to bring to your attention, which I found really cool. So going forward from there, what also happened was that my or the software I wanted to use didn't work. Parker showed up and it was black and white.
It's like out of a horror film. So this was not not what I was after. You know, we couldn't do that. And then he couldn't get sound. So we had to quickly switch and be adaptable to find another platform.
Like another way to do the thing. And I wanted to record. I wanted to go live and I wanted to control the event. So I quickly had a backup software and we went and did this. So that's the second point.
Have kind of a backup in case things don't go to plan, which a lot of the cases, especially if you run your own electrical business, you'll find things won't always go to plan. And then the other thing I'd like to point out is that now we have made this video. So I think we went for about 40 minutes and that's why I'm not really going to put it on as a podcast just because it's too long. I want to keep these podcasts, you know, 10 to 20 minutes long. That's kind of the length I want to go for.
But however, we've put it on about 40 minutes. Now, what can you do with that video? You can rerun through that video and you can take out points and repurpose them elsewhere. And what do I mean by that? Say there's a minute where we're talking about I don't know what how how essentially how to become an electrician.
People usually don't want to spend 40 minutes watching a video, especially the scrolling through Facebook. We could have a one minute clip or less of just something we talked about there and break it down into pull out the most interesting facts or sections that we talked about through the interview and use these as content for your Facebook page or YouTube. Or wherever you're marketing and use that as hooks and stories like little short little hooks and stories you can test in order to connect with your audience. So out of 40 minutes, say we have 20 minutes of one minute videos we pull out, which is interesting, engaging content that we could then use to speak and connect with that audience in the level. So that's also another thing that I don't know if I'm going to do, but I'm going to suggest to Parker to do this.
Because it's his audience that that keywords is going for and it could be quite useful. I might just do it because I want to test it and get feedback for you guys to show you how this potentially work and what what this could do. This strategy could do for your business. So I hope that helps. If you have any questions on this or if you would like to get on the show, you can go to marketingsecretsforelectricians.com.
You can opt in to see the video interview series that I'm creating, or you can go to the contact page, ask a question, and I'll talk to you soon. Thanks. Have you ever wondered how that electrical contractor came to be so popular? Have so many customers and what they did to get there and let's face it, a bit jealous that your business isn't quite there yet. Well, I'm doing an interview video series where we're interviewing these electrical contractors, getting the gems of knowledge and what they've learned over the course of time that they've run their business to get it to that point.
We're not only going to cover how they got there, but what what pitfalls they ran into along the way. So you don't have to go through them yourself and you can go straight to ideally having that success or implementing things straight away that lead to your business growing. A lot faster than it otherwise would have. So if you're interested in getting and listening to this video series course, you can go to marketingsecretsforelectrician.com and I'll see you there.
