Hey guys, Gintrest here, Marketing Secrets for Electricians and thanks for tuning in. Now if you're watching last week, we were looking at running some ads and we've ran those ads and I've got some results for you. electrical business. How do we compete against the big guys who own the market share or the guys that charge peanuts for an electrical job? On top of that we want to employ the best electricians so we can get off the tools and have plenty of time for other areas of life.
That's the question. Join me and follow along as we search for the answers. My name is James Rest and welcome to Marketing Secrets for Electricians. Curious, before we get into this, has anyone ever run any Facebook ads? If you have, let me know.
Come to the Facebook group and share your results with everybody else. I'm interested to see what other people are getting. So what we did in this case, we had two campaigns, or one campaign, we had two ad different ad sets with the same audiences just rearranged differently, one in a three layer. to go to school, they had to be married and they had to like fishing for example whatever those three things things that's like three layers that have those three things but we had 30 of them so we had 10 10 10 and then we had the other ad set which had only one ad layer but with 30 things thought 30 audiences so they just had to have one of those three things now we tested this out we ran some ads and guess what you don't have to spend a lot on Facebook to see what is what working and what isn't working. Now, the ad we ran was just talking about safety, electrical safety, fire safety, things that can go bad, wrong, and what you can do about it.
And then at the end of that ad, we offered, hey, get a free electrician essentially to come around or free electrical work for your home if you go to the draw. So we got about four people in that over this week. of our four or five days, and we got four people. And guess where those four people came from? It came from the more targeted layer list.
So the one that had three in a row, we got four people. Facebook said three, but I had four in my ClickFunnels account. So the only way that I'd find out about this is through the Facebook ad, because that's the only place we're actually running these ads and spending traffic to it. So out of those two different ad sets, We got one we spent only spent 480 or five dollars each out So we spent five dollars and you can spend on the ad set as much as you want to test it I'd recommend only going up to maybe 20 to see the results because it may take you 20 dollars just to get a result Well, you may get no results, but this is the investment you want to put in kind of as a minimum to Get you need to put money in to get a result So we put five bucks in on each ad run it over a few days a dollar fifty day whatever that was and we got some results so that's great and the three layered add one so that got four results the other one got zero now what does that mean what do we do from here so if I was to continue running these two ads and I might I might not we'll see how we go what I would do is turn off the one that wasn't working or I can run and maybe spend ten dollars each and then compare again but at some point you want to go okay this This is the ad set I want to continue with. Which one's winning?
It's a split test. You're comparing one against the other and you're going, okay, this one wins. Great. So then you turn the other one off and you continue running ads in that direction and you can continue split testing. So you could have another layered group.
So our assumption here is now three layers beats one layer, like from what I've seen. And we can run a few more tests to confirm that, but that's what this is assuming. test you could do is have another three layer test versus that three layer test and see which one wins or you could have the same audience and run different ads to it. So that's kind of step one, I guess, in the marketing. So we're getting there.
We're spent some money. We've got some potential customers. We've got some leads is what we're calling them. They've given us their name, their email and their postcode. So I know where they are so I can match them to electricians in the future if we want to go down that path.
Now the next step we're going to be doing is a, so we're going to, that's like one test we're going to do. And in marketing, it's kind of all about testing. And what we're going to do next is split test some different campaigns with some ad sets. And so let's look into that next episode. Are you an electrician looking to market your business?
When I first started, I didn't have a clue. The trade school that I went to, they didn't really help. So over the years, I've managed to find a way that it works effectively, scalable, and you can basically put it on automation once you've set up. If you're interested in implementing this in your business or discussing marketing in any fashion, come join us in the Facebook group. there by going to marketingelectrician.com and clicking on the Facebook button.
See you in the group.
