Hi guys James West here for our marketing secrets for electricians and today we're talking about the invisible sales funnel for electricians and this is created when we start marketing so let's have a look. electrical business. How do we compete against the big guys who own the market share or the guys that charge peanuts for an electrical job? On top of that we want to employ the best electricians so we can get off the tools and have plenty of time for other areas of life. That's the question.
Join me and follow along as we search for the answers. My name is James Rest and welcome to Marketing Secrets for Electricians. Well, I bet you're wondering what an invisible sales funnel is and I learned this concept at an event called Funnel Hacking Live and this is a marketing event where you go and you just talk about marketing basically for a week and learn all different types of concepts and theories and so I'm going to share this one with you today in the hopes that you'll be able to utilize it to capture this invisible sales funnel for your business. So in a sense what happens when you start marketing or producing content? Basically, let's say you've got your electoral business and you start publishing once a week on a blog about your company, about the jobs, about the work you're doing on a consistent basis.
If someone searches and runs into your blog and starts reading about your content or your business they're going to go OK, who is this guy? Who is this person that this electrician that I'm really searching about? So they might search. So from your from your website, from your blog, they might then go into Google and search your name, your company and do more research on you to find out exactly who you are. And this is where the invisible sales funnel start.
It's like this side effect from marketing. It's people going through and searching your name, your business and anything else they can find that that relates to you. Now if you do not have a central hub, essentially that connects all these bits and pieces together, so if you've got Facebook over here and YouTube over here and something else over there and all these things, it basically is scattered all over the internet and especially if you don't have a page for your name, I think this is a big one because I'll search you and if you don't show up, it's like a missed opportunity because they're not finding out you so basically for example in this case they've found an article about installing an oven and they want to get an oven installed and they're like oh yeah I like this content that you put on you've recommended an oven and you've added value however there's just not quite sure so they're like okay let me search for this guy and if they search and they don't find anything there's like a high percentage that they won't actually go through with the sale because they're like almost there but not quite or even worse if you search your name or your company and a bad review comes up that's not good you've got to basically go through and try and put enough good content out there so any bad or negative stuff you know there's always going to be haters anyway we just have to move on but if you can make sure that they're not up the top when you're or when the customer is searching about you this is like going to help you greatly and this is where the invisible sales funnel starts so they might be researching about the oven and then they research you and they find out your main page so for example they might go to changerest.com and right now I haven't actually got a page there I plan on putting something there in the future to have something about myself I've got the domain and the intentions to help connect everything that I'm doing in the one spot so it all weaves together and people can find out about me and what I do and all this type of stuff. So if they find out about you, they're more likely you're gaining trust. So there's like seven touch points.
There's an average like people have to see you hear about you seven times before they'll make a decision to buy. It's about gaining trust like you're no longer this new thing. They're getting more associated with you. They're getting more with the way you talk the way you share information you're adding more value to to their lives so start doing this and thinking about what people are searching and you need to start a if your Name doesn't show up at the top. That's one thing we got to start looking at if your website doesn't show up when you search your company name This is another thing you got to start searching out even though also it's not such a big deal if you're like If you're not showing up in America and you're in the UK, you know, it's irrelevant because you need to start focusing on the local search.
And this is a whole nother focus topic to get your business found locally. You know, you need to go on to Google Maps and make sure you're on Google Maps. This is probably the number one thing. And then once you're on Google Maps, get some customers to put some reviews on there to boost your ranking. So it's not like you go there and no one's seeing you because the guy I was talking to the other day he's like I don't trust the standard reviews as it is so if you have no reviews you're paddling Upshit Creek as they say.
So in summary we want to capture the invisible sales funnel for your business by putting together a central hub of all your pages all your content and linking everything together so when you you or when people search for you, you show up at least on the first page. You've got to be on the first page. Anything after the first page is pretty much dead. So you want to show up on the first page for your name, for your business, especially in your local area. And then if you're going to be working and following along, we're going to be building all sorts of like of sales funnels and all sorts of offers for electricians so we can start adding them onto this page as well.
can find out about you and then you might have an offer and then they go purchase that offer so they're constantly finding and searching more things of value for them and you're building that relationship all the while you're busy actually doing the marketing creating content and running your business this is like happening in the background so that's why it's the invisible problem because you don't see it it's like you need to just put it out there connect together and you it's like the crumbs of the of the marketing that you're doing and the content. So hope this helps and makes sense. If you have any questions, hit me up and you can find out. So I've started doing this for marketingelectrician.com. This is the start of my central hub where I'm going to be putting all the bits and pieces together, but also the offers.
I'm going to extend a bit bigger than what I talked about on the last episode. And I'm going to extend it, add more details because Google likes details. because I want that page to eventually get found in Google and to add value to people when they're searching for help with their marketing for electricians. So any questions hit me up and I will talk to you soon. I don't plan personally to go do these jobs, I'm going to give them to electricians that want to work with me to help serve these customers.
