Hey guys, James Ross here from Marketing Secrets for Electricians and today we're looking at the difference between a blog and a sales funnel. So, here's what I hear a lot. How do normal electricians like us, who are properly trained and licensed, who are not willing to cheat and take shortcuts, and who are wanting to own a successful electrical business? How do we compete against the big guys who own the market share or the guys that charge peanuts for an electrical job? On top of that, we want to employ the best electricians so we can get off the tools and have plenty of time for other areas of life.

That's the question. Join me and follow along as we search for the answers. My name is James Rest and welcome to Marketing Secrets for Electricians. So first off, I'd like to say thank you for listening and downloading and joining in on the conversation following along as we create sales funnels for electricians. If you do have any questions, hit me up, MarkingSecretsForElectricians.com.

You can hit the contact button or you can go to the Facebook page. Either way, hopefully I'll be able to help you out with your marketing. So in regards to marketing, what I'm doing now, for fine electricians near me is building a baseline. So we've pretty much got the sales funnel done. A few more things need to be added to that.

But for the most part, the contents there is almost ready to go. And the flow of the funnel is there as well. So people will go through that and give us the information we need in order to produce an electrical job for you guys. The next step under is creating a couple blog posts so there is more content for them to consume and also planning on these blog posts ranking at some stage in the future for certain keywords to help the blog/website get found now. That then raises the question should we have or what's the difference between a blog and a sales funnel and essentially in my opinion a blog is the start of a sales funnel so a blog, most people use wordpress that powers a high amount of the internet because it's just easy and it's free so that is great for producing a lot of content quickly WordPress is designed for blogging that's the central purpose of it whereas a sales funnel is a series of steps your customer through a process where you're helping them achieve the result that they're after.

Now how they work hand in hand is if I'm a customer and I'm like wanting to research smoke alarms for example and I'm like is the smoke alarm I've got in the right place? Am I safe? And I search kind of smoke alarms in Google and it comes up with the keyword and you're like you know listed number one. So that goes to your blog post about hey, is your smoke lime in the right place? Here's how to check.

And if you need a licensed electrician to do this for you or install or just, you know, do a free safety check, for example, you could put out that would be a link to the start of your sales funnel where you offer them a free safety check in their area potentially. So and if they get that safety check, that would then start down the sales funnel process where you would hopefully start making some money as well now where this comes back to is should like with the for example I use click funnels to make sales funnels now does that mean I mean click funnels can create like a blog post but the software isn't really designed to produce for producing a lot of content like WordPress is you can just write ClickFunnels is designed for sales funnels and it's designed for that area. So the WordPress blog is designed for producing content. So this is the distinction and what you do is actually so the website is finallectriciansnearme.com and you can create a subdomain which is for example blog.finallectriciansnearme.com. Now, that's the subdomain I'm going to create where the blog is going to be.

And that blog, I'm going to produce five articles or so about the process I go through. So I'm teaching the process. I'm going to go through to find electrician and help other people do that. So whether they use my services or not, they can still get help and get value. And from there, what you can do, whoever comes to your website, if they do not So if they don't use your services, so from the website, I'm going to have a link saying, hey, you want an electrician, I'm going to help you out.

Click here. If they don't do that, you can track them and you can retarget on a Facebook pixel or Google. The analytics can suss it as well. And you can basically send ads to them, even if you have not got that user's email address. So it's kind of the customer for you at this point has interacted with your brand.

you can still follow them around the internet essentially wherever they go you can have your ad saying hey I've seen that you're on my website and you consumed this article about smoke alarms do you still need help with the smoke alarms? just for you just for today if you take action I'm going to give you 50% off or I'm going to give you a free smoke alarm installed whatever the thing is you can do a video like that and you can set it up automatically so you're following them around the web wherever they go Facebook Google has lots of like ad networks where you can place your ad in banners and all that type of stuff and it's not that expensive to do so my question to you is do you have a Facebook retailer If not, not just Facebook, but also I'd set up Google. Do you have this targeting set up so you can actually retarget them if you needed, because getting the customer to interact with your brand essentially is the most expensive and hardest bit. Once they've touched, interacted, or just consumed some content, it becomes so much easier to, or cheaper to reach back out to them and keep interacting with them until actually go, oh yeah, now I need an electrician or you find something that they need or want or make an offer that's so valuable that they can't resist. They're like, yes, I've just got to have that thing, even though I don't need the electrician maybe, but I want that content or I want to know what he's talking about.

So if you want help with this, you can reach out and I can do a little video or whatever and help you get that set up. I think it's a valuable tool that is underutilized, like there's what what I found is say 20% is the front end and then also out of sales yes 20% of the sales come from the the first touch and then 80% can come from retargeting so you're you haven't got this in place you're essentially missing out on the retargeting following that if you haven't got a blog get a blog set up if you haven't got a sales funnel get a sales funnel set up these are key pieces in order to market your electrical business. So that's all I've got for today. I hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know.
