Hey, guys. James just here from Marketing Secrets for Electricians. And today, I don't know if you've ever tried to write a blog post, but it takes a lot of work. So I'm going to share with you what I found easier, quicker, a hell of a lot faster, and hopefully it helps. So here's what I hear a lot.

How do normal electricians like us, who are properly trained and licensed, who are not willing to cheat and take shortcuts, and who are wanting to own a successful electrical business? How do we compete against the big guys who own the market share or the guys that charge peanuts for an electrical job? On top of that, we want to employ the best electricians so we can get off the tools and have plenty of time for other areas of life. That's the question. Join me and follow along as we search for the answers.

the books to enter this competition. But other than that, writing stories and being creative with words was not my strength. My strength was in like science and maths. And I found these so much more interesting. But that is like I wish I put more effort in back then because nowadays with the Internet, all the information, everything you see online is based on words.

So you want to find anything you want to communicate with anything. What do you need words and the way you say something makes a difference. So if I say Johnny ate the dog or the dog ate Johnny, you know, there's two different factors. One is essentially the flip way around just by changing the words. So the way you say something matters.

And then we're going through with Google and everything. All the words help you get found. So if someone's searching for an electrician or something related to electrical, you want to be the person in your area that they find and you help them with your content. But saying that it's hard or I find it hard to sit down and type out word for word the blog post, for example. So if you look at the average, I think the average words per minute, if you can touch type that.

First off, touch typing is where you use 10 10 fingers. So all your hands, your whole hand and both of them, you can touch type. You could probably do more than 40 words per minute, but the average person is about 40 words per minute. So if you do that over 10 minutes, that's 400 words for an article. And then you do that over an hour.

We're getting getting up there, but it's still only 40 words per minute. And then you got to go back through and correct it and all this type of stuff. Now, it took me a long time or it takes a long time, I think, because I don't do a lot of blog posts and I don't really enjoy them. They take the longest time to get found. So you're looking at three to six months to get ranked if they get ranked and making the content is only like the first step, how you make the content, how you structure the page, who you connect the page with, do you get backlinks?

All this other stuff is kind of involved in making just one article get found. So there's a bit of work involved in doing that. And even if you did that, it takes long term. It's a great strategy. Long term, it's like you if you want to rank for the keyword and your suburb, it's a good way to at least put something out there to try and grow and rank that because that's going to get you a lot of free traffic, free traffic.

Ideally, you convert into free leads and free customers. That being said, if you can only type 40 words per minute, what I found if I was to do an article now, I can talk so you can grab Google Docs and go to the voice voice to text. And if you click that, you can talk and it will type literally right in front of you. And it's quite good. But the main thing is what I found is you could you can talk about six times faster than you can type.

What does that mean? It means for me, I can create a thousand word article in five, 10 minutes, depending upon how fast I talk. And then I can have the outline of the article that I want to talk about. And it's all written. And then I can just put that in a blog post, use WordPress or whatever you use to create your blog post.

And it is so much faster. So in essence, if you can do that, so if you're not going to do like a podcast, for example, if I wanted to transcribe this podcast, I could also do it the same way. So I'm talking into my phone right now. I can then take the text from that, transcribe it and I'll have the basically the blueprint, the first draft of my blog post. I can then type it like fix it up myself or I can hire someone who knows all the SEO and the keywords and say, hey, I want to rank this here's the draft.

Can you put it in a way that makes sense that will get found in Google? And this is a way where you can lead what you want to share. So you might want to share about a ceiling fan or whatever the keywords you are after. You can look, I want to target these keywords. I'm going to do a blog post on this and I'm going to start it by talking and you can be driving in your car if you want to get on your phone, just talk and transcribe.

However you want to do it. The main thing is that you just start doing it and you will be able to create like if you did one a week, that's 52 posts a week that you could have up and running. And if you subcontract out the like your drafts or someone else does it, you could go on Fiverr, get it done quite cheaply. And then best off, you can start focusing on or keep focusing on actually doing the electrical work, which makes money. So I hope that helps.

I personally have found this so much easier to create content, create articles. It took me an hour to do five articles for final electricians near me. So yeah, the time saver is huge and eventually you'll have enough content out there. So your page, your website will hopefully get found on the internet through Google and any other search engine you like to use. So hope that helps.
